Is Seongsan the only oreum? The real ones are elsewhere

The true Jeju view, from a quiet oreum the tour buses never reach
Jeju has over 360 oreum. But tourists hit just a few — Seongsan Ilchulbong, Yongnuni — and leave. The crowded ones are a parking war, and you end up staring at the back of someone's head instead of the view.

Tall isn't everything. Climb a low, quiet oreum and the sea and the fields open up all at once — your chest just relaxes.
Aim for the low oreum you can climb in 20 minutes
The low ones, 15 to 20 minutes to the top, are actually the prime seats. Gentle ridges are easy with kids or parents, and the summit opens Jeju's fields and sea in every direction.

GYULI's Tip · Oreum are best at early morning or sunset. Midday has no shade and gets hot — bring a hat and water.

Instead of stamp-collecting the big sights, climb one oreum slowly and let the Jeju wind hit you. A quiet oreum stays with you longer than a Seongsan selfie.

…Not that curious? Well, next time I'll show you a hidden sea spot. If word gets out I'm in trouble, so keep it between us.
